The 4th Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) marks a defining moment for reshaping global economic rules that determine everyone’s rights, peace and stability. As part of a series of landmark summits and international processes in 2025, including the Second World Summit for Social Development in November, FfD4 will play a crucial role in setting the course for economic and social justice worldwide.

To drive meaningful change, we must bridge the questions related to financing and the fiscal space, which are the focus of FfD4, and social spendings in areas such as public services and care and support, that will be a priority of the following summits. FfD4, which brings together leading international experts, policymakers and civil society representatives in financing, taxation and economic policy, offers an opportunity to deepen a cross-sectoral dialogue with the public services and care and support movements to fulfil rights and contribute to sustainable development now and in the future. This is a key moment to address some of the crucial questions at the intersection of finance, public services, care and human rights, such as the role of the private sector, the relationship to just transition amidst the climate crisis, and international cooperation.

This event seeks to create a space for collaborative exchange and bold, forward-thinking solutions to forge a more unified, strategic and impactful approach to financing public services and fulfilling human rights; laying the foundation for a more just, equitable and caring society.
