We Submitted Inputs to the Committee on the Rights of the Child in Preparation for Its Review of Colombia
On 12 December, we submitted inputs to the Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) ahead of its 100th session, in preparation for its review of Colombia. The joint submission, made with the Latin American Campaign for the Right to Education (CLADE), the Colombian Coalition for the Right to Education (CCDE), Fundación Mundo Mejor, ACDEP, and OMEP Colombia, focuses on early childhood care and education and the State’s obligation to guarantee it as a right from birth.
The report raises concerns about fragmented, underfunded earlychildhood care and education services and highlights the risks of outsourcing care provision. It calls for stronger public systems, data transparency, regulation of private actors, and greater investment to ensure equitable access to quality care and early education.
