Advancing a Collective Narrative for Public Education - Internal Session with PEHRC Members

On November 14, 2024, we convened the Privatisation in Education and Human Rights Consortium's (PEHRC) members for a dynamic internal learning session. The session focused on the presentation of the Lexia survey results, highlighting public perceptions of public services, particularly education, in Latin America (Chile, Colombia, Guatemala and Mexico), India and Nigeria. The core of the session was a collaborative brainstorming exercise designed to craft a unified, compelling narrative in support of public education.

Session Highlights:

  • Survey Findings: We reviewed key insights from the Lexia survey to better understand regional perspectives on public education.
  • Narrative Development: The brainstorming underscored the importance of developing a cohesive, coalition-wide narrative to strengthen our advocacy and outreach. This shared narrative will lay the groundwork for future campaigns and initiatives.
  • Next Steps: The session wrapped up with initial ideas for concrete actions to amplify this narrative, serving to fortify our collective fight against privatisation, and advocate for quality public education systems.
