GI-ESCR joins the Geneva Global Health Hub!

The Global Initiative for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (GI-ESCR) has joined the Geneva Global Health Hub (G2H2), a not-for-profit and non-governmental, that advocates for democratic global health governance. GI-ESCR joins the coalition to push for rights-aligned health policies that prioritise people rather than private interests.

G2H2 provides a networking space for civil society organisations specifically working on global health and social justice in health policies. Its members co-publish reports, policy briefs and open letters. Being part of this coalition will further expand and strengthen GI-ESCR’s work on the right to health and global health. We also join the working group following advocacy on the pandemic treaty. This is an area that we follow closely. In February 2023, we published a joint public statement with partners pushing for higher participation of civil society in the treaty-making process. For over 2 years, we also collaborated to the drafting of the recently published Human Rights & Public Health Emergencies.

We will work together with partners to make change happen, protecting public healthcare services from commodification and proposing human rights solutions to policy problems.
