We Supported CESCR in organising the 2025 Annual Meeting with Civil Society

In February 2025, the Committee on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights held its 77th session Annual Meeting. Several civil society organisations participated during this session. The Committee emphasised the commitment of civil society organisations to advancing human rights, underscoring the importance of their participation in a dialogue focused on improving the CESCR's working methods.

The meeting was a space to discuss broad issues of concern for civil society and, specifically, to address the right to a clean and healthy environment. Civil society representatives brought several recommendations and concerns, from drug policies to strategic litigation, to the Committee's attention.

Given that the meeting was held in person in Geneva at Palais Wilson, civil society remarked on the importance of having such engagement in a hybrid format, allowing organisations unable to travel to Geneva to participate remotely.

By organising this event, we fostered dialogues and discussions between civil society and mandate holders, maintaining our commitment to strengthening the work of UN bodies.
